Featured Speakers

Greg Warren—EMCEE and Keynote Speaker
Greg Warren, most recently seen on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show and Comedy Central Presents, has built a strong fan base with an act inspired by his Midwestern upbringing. His CDs, Running Out of Time (Sept 2013) and One Star Wonder (June 2009) hit #3 and #6 respectively in iTunes Top Comedy Albums. An honest mix of self-deprecation, frustration and an arsenal of lifelike characters highlight Greg’s colorful perspective.  Greg attracts a diverse audience spectrum, having performed as a finalist on BET’s Coming to the Stage and on Country Music Television. He is a favorite on the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show, which led to touring theaters nationwide with The Bob & Tom All Stars Comedy Tour. Greg was also a West Point Cadet, where he distinguished himself  by amassing an impressive tally of demerits and endless hours of pointless marching. After moving on to the University of Missouri, he studied journalism and became an All-American college wrestler.  NAIFA Maryland is proud to have Greg as the keynote speaker for this event.

Felix Kushnir — Shulman Rogers
Mr. Kushnir will address the legal issues related to succession planning, valuation and the sale or purchase of an insurance agency.  With personal experience owning and operating a business, Felix knows how difficult it is to grow a business and still find time to manage its legal and compliance matters. Because of this, he is dedicated to assisting clients in the most efficient manner possible.  Felix serves as outside general counsel to software, technology and emerging growth clients and advises on a wide range of business law issues, including equity compensation, corporate governance, debt financing and commercial contract matters.  His experience advising clients spans a wide range of industries and regulatory environments, including government contracting, insurance, telecommunications,        cybersecurity, healthcare, energy and financial services

Bryson Popham – Bryson F. Popham, P.A.
Mr. Popham will be delivering a one hour CE on the 2018 Legislative Update.  Bryson has been the lobbyist for NAIFA Maryland and other industry associations for decades.  Topics of discussion will include the Health Savings Accounts Preservation Coalition, statutory fiduciary liability in Maryland, health care reform, life insurance of a minor, the Maryland Small Business Retirement Savings Board and legislation that would prohibit a prospective employer from inquiring about the salary history and other information from a job applicant.  It will also include a discussion of several attempts made by the Maryland General Assembly to prohibit the use of credit history, the use of marital status or gender, and the use of occupation or Education in determining the rating of an insurance policy.
